Propane Gas Tank
The body of the propane gas tank is manufactured in accordance with European standards, following the designs and specifications of Calabrese, former partner of the National Semi-Trailers Company.
General Technical Specifications:
Capacity:
-
The tank capacity must match the intended usage.
-
In your case: 6,000 liters for propane.
Pressure:
-
Internal pressure: Propane is stored in liquid form under a specific pressure in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks. The pressure is usually between 7 and 10 bars, depending on temperature and conditions.
-
Operating pressure: Depends on the type of tank and ambient temperature, but the tank is generally designed to withstand pressures from 8 to 18 bars.
Materials Used:
-
Stainless steel or carbon steel: Commonly used for propane tank fabrication due to their strength and pressure resistance.
-
Anti-corrosion layers: To ensure durability and resistance to weather conditions, corrosion-resistant materials such as galvanized steel or special coatings are used.
Dimensions:
-
Length and diameter: Depend on the tank shape (usually cylindrical or tubular).
-
For a 6,000-liter tank: length approximately 4 to 5 meters, diameter approximately 1.5 meters.
Safety Systems:
-
Safety valve: The tank must be equipped with valves to automatically regulate overpressure.
-
Pressure relief valve: In case of overpressure, gas is safely released.
-
Liquid level monitoring: Devices are installed to measure the gas level in the tank to prevent overfilling.
-
Non-return valve: Prevents gas leakage in case of explosion or malfunction.
Thermal Insulation:
-
Propane tanks can be equipped with thermal insulation to prevent sudden temperature changes, especially in high-heat areas.
Structural Design:
-
Cylindrical or horizontal shape: The choice depends on available space, with cylindrical being the most common.
-
Insulation and cover: The tank may have a cover to protect against weather conditions or reduce heat loss.
